PLANETARY MISSIONS PROGRAM OFFICE SOCIAL MEDIA
Facebook Posts
As the Communications and Outreach Intern for the Planetary Missions Program Office (PMPO) I was given the responsibility of creating content for the office’s official Facebook page. The majority of content was geared towards promoting information about the various current and future planetary science missions and their scientific discoveries. These posts required me to do extensive research on space and science topics that are often difficult to write about in a shortened social media format. Writing about these topics in an accessible way is a skill I was able to develop during my time at PMPO.
Below you will find links to several Facebook posts that I independently created for the page:
CAREER CENTER SOCIAL MEDIA
Goal:
The University of Alabama Career Center’s goal is to partner with students as they explore possibilities, develop skills, and connect with opportunities related to their professional endeavors.
Using social media effectively creates awareness about the Career Center’s events and resources. Our primary audiences are current students, faculty & staff, alumni, and other UA community members.
Strategy:
All Career Center accounts are 100% organic and hope to inform about the office’s services as well as drive event attendance. To increase engagement and awareness several strategies are in action:
Post about our largest events on our feeds (IG, Linked-In, and FB).
Utilize stories to bring attention to smaller events.
Keep content engaging by using photos, graphics, and videos.
Results:
This social media strategy resulted in several areas of growth. Overall we saw and increase in
